Digital x-rays
We use state-of-the-art digital x-rays in our practice. The superior clarity and quality means even tiny imperfections in the teeth can be identified and treated, which may otherwise have been missed. Digital x-rays give a very detailed view inside your jaw, aiding accurate diagnosis.
The results from your x-ray are available to view immediately, and can be adjusted or the x-ray taken again if necessary without the need for another appointment.
Laser gum surgery
Soft tissue lasers are revolutionising gum surgery, and have a number of advantages over conventional surgical techniques. The need for sutures is reduced, as is healing time and bleeding. Many treatments can be carried out in a single day, allowing us to carry out restorative work on the same day as your surgery.
Lasers have many uses in modern dentistry including soft tissue crown lengthening and troughing prior to crowning a tooth, operculectomy to reduce the incidence of infection from impacted wisdom teeth, re-contouring the gum to improve appearance and removing the frenum to help close gaps beneath teeth. There is very little pain or discomfort following treatment and the surgical sites heal very quickly.
Periowave periodontal treatment
Periowave is a non-invasive treatment for periodontal disease. It is used to destroy the harmful bacteria around your gums, especially in areas that are normally hard to reach, thus improving your oral health.
The device flows a blue dye into the gum pockets, which attaches to the bacterial plaque cell walls. This blue dye is activated by a laser, which causes the destruction of the cell walls and disinfection of the periodontal pocket. Periowave is fast and pain-free.
